Gratitude
Things I’m grateful for:
- We still have at least a few years left before the world is destroyed;
- None of the people I love have died;
- I don’t fear for my life or the lives of those I love before the end;
- None of the people I love are suffering to the point that their lives are no longer worth living;
- I’m not suffering to the point that my life is no longer worth living;
- I don’t experience suffering in my moment-to-moment experience;
- I don’t have tinnitus or any other type of non-painful distraction that disrupts my moment-to-moment experience;
- I’m loved and respected by the people I love and respect;
- I’m not depressed or suffering from mental illness;
- I can see and look at beautiful things like the sea, a sunset, or the starry sky;
- I can hear and listen to wonderful things like music by Bach, the Beatles, and children laughing,
- I can smell and breathe in the scent of the forest and savor the aroma of the dishes I love;
- I can hug the people I love and have sex with my girlfriend, push and feel the world resist;
- I can walk and move through space toward new experiences and toward people I love and locations that are important to me;
- I can read, and I never feel inescapable tedium;
- I can express myself and show others what’s inside me;
- I’m not afraid.
